Using the Scientific Method
This in-service suite describes the steps of the scientific method. Teachers can discover how to use these steps in daily activities with children.
These resources support children in developing knowledge about the natural and physical worlds, scientific skills and methods, and reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Scientific reasoning is a preschooler subdomain of the cognition central domain in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF). Other ELOF domains include approaches to learning; social and emotional development; language and literacy; and perceptual, motor, and physical development.
