Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery

Head Start and other early childhood programs play an important role in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from a disaster or emergency. Being prepared for disaster makes it easier for everyone to cope and recover during and after an emergency. During an emergency or disaster, Head Start and other early childhood program staff must be prepared to keep everyone safe and provide stability. After an emergency, staff can support recovery and share information about resources and agencies that can assist families.

These resources will help early childhood programs learn more about emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
