Circle Time Magic: Movement
Dawn: All right. It is time for Circle Time Magic.
Kristin: That's right, so we're going to give you a tip for Circle Time. So, one of the great things about Circle Time is that it's a great teaching opportunity because you have all the children there. Right? But things can get kind of wiggly sometimes, and you want to keep children engaged because they're young children. Right? You don't want it to go a little too long.
Sometimes having something physical to do at Circle Time is a great way to kind of center the circle, get kids back engaged.
Dawn: Perfect. So, what we have here are some photos of kids doing yoga in circle. This is a great way to regulate your body. Right? So if you've got some big emotions and there's lots of activity going on, it's a good way to help calm down. You can do some deep breathing strategies here. You're moving your body and stretching, and it's a great way to calm yourself down. So, try yoga at Circle Time.
Watch a segment of Circle Time Magic that talks about how to use movement to promote emotional regulation. This video is part of the Positive Behavior Support module, one of several EarlyEdU Alliance Higher Education Learning Modules.
