Modeling with Play by Play
Teacher: Let's take care of the babies. First, we have to feed them like this. [Inaudible] Baby is so thirsty. There you go. My baby is thirsty, too. That’s perfect. You’re doing it just right.
In this clip, an educator uses a prompting technique called modeling, which is paired with her instruction. They give the child an instruction while modeling what the child is supposed to do. The educator uses this prompting strategy because the child is not yet able to follow her verbal instruction alone. She needs a model to help her know what to do.
