What Is a Family Partnership Agreement?
Narrator: Welcome back to the Head Start Home-Based Program. It's our mission to make every home visit worth your time. To reach that goal, we need to talk about bad meetings. Let's look at our top two reasons why good meetings go bad.
Bad meeting No. 1: This meeting has nothing to do with me.
Bad meeting No. 2: You think you have a meeting, and you're the only one who shows up.
Our goal? No bad meetings. That's why our Home Visiting Program has a family partnership agreement. It's a formal commitment between you and your home visitor, so you always know when you're meeting and why.
First, you agree that you'll both meet at a regular time and place, including home visits and socialization groups. Second, you agree that you will set goals for yourself and your child, and that you and your home visitor can change and adjust your goals as your child grows and changes. Finally, you agree that you and your child will practice new ways to play and learn between home visits.
The family partnership agreement is your commitment to each other and to your child's future. Enjoy.
