Observation is one of the most powerful tools teachers, home visitors, and family child care providers have for building relationships with infants, toddlers, and their families. It is the entryway to seeing each child as a unique individual and as a capable learner. Learning the art of observation and how observation informs responsive caring and individualization takes time, effort, and practice.
