Paula Luna

I was a Head Start student at the Danbury Head Start. I spent two years in the program. I had two children who also attended the same program. I volunteered many hours during their time in the program. Then, I was hired as an aide and I spent two years there and was then hired as a teacher—I spent the next 13 years doing that. I left that location after 15 years and was hired three years later in Waterbury. I'm still in touch with my former Head Start teacher who I've “adopted” as my mom. Without Head Start and all the great experiences I've gained, I wouldn't be the person I am today! I'm grateful everyday for being a part of such an amazing program.
