Mental Health and Disasters

Being prepared for emergencies is one of the many ways you take care of children, staff, and families in your program. Keeping mental health in mind when you are planning for disasters and during response and recovery activities helps protect everyone from the psychological harm of natural disasters and emergencies.

This chapter discusses ways to include mental health in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
