Step 4: Check, Restock, and Replace Supplies

Make a schedule for checking your emergency equipment and supplies at least twice a year and after a disaster. Look at the expiration dates on supplies and replace expired items.

Be sure you have:

  • Working communication equipment
  • Equipment to evacuate infants and toddlers
  • A supply of food, water, and other emergency provisions
  • Current care plans for children with disabilities or special health care needs and the medication or assistive devices they need
