Make a schedule for checking your emergency equipment and supplies at least twice a year and after a disaster. Look at the expiration dates on supplies and replace expired items.
Be sure you have:
- Working communication equipment
- Equipment to evacuate infants and toddlers
- A supply of food, water, and other emergency provisions
- Current care plans for children with disabilities or special health care needs and the medication or assistive devices they need
