Supplies Lead

The supplies lead gets supplies and provides food, water, and other materials and equipment during an emergency. This person may also be responsible for inventories and replacing items when needed.

Preparedness Actions

  • Buys emergency supplies for at least 72 hours to meet the age and developmental needs of each group of children (e.g., diapers, bottles, formula, food, water, first aid supplies, extra clothing, blankets, flashlights) and buys equipment as needed for emergency procedures
  • Stores perishable supplies in containers that keep out pests and moisture
  • Checks the emergency supplies twice a year to confirm that items have not expired and replaces used and out-of-date items if needed
  • Works with the first aid lead to order first aid and medical supplies for emergencies and distributes them to staff for each group of children
  • Puts together and distributes a go bag and a Bee CALM Backpack for each group of children with supplies for evacuation
